Live DVD

cover-dvd This is the guys first DVD release. In 1994 The Rubettes had a video release of 70’s studio clips which is no longer available. Complied from various concerts in Belgium and Germany between 2000 and 2003 all of the major ’hit’s’ of The Rubettes are featured as well as the famous Acapela version of After The Goldrush and new sensation ‘Taiko Drums’ which is really fantastic and captures all the action.
There are also some unique unrehearsed moments such as when John decides to play a drum solo and then have a rest behind his drum kit just before a fantastic version of Sugar Baby Love with 15000 people joining in with the chorus and Alan getting tongue tied when singing the wrong words in Ooh La La. There is also the only version you will ever see of John singing You’re the Reason Why. After trying it he found it too strenuous to sing and play at the same time and so now Mark sings it. The sound and balance is not always perfect but definitely ‘Live’ on the night and not a result of having been taken into the studio like many other so called ‘Live’ performances are. The visuals are fantastic and it certainly captures how great the guys are. A ‘must have’ for your collection whether you have been to a concert or not.
