Original member of the Rubettes on Bass and Vocals. His appearance may have changed slightly over the years but his dynamic economically effective bass lines have maintained their consistency throughout. Micks simple but direct style dominated without interference allowing the Rubettes music room to breath.
Originally from Grimsby he grew up in Dagenham, Essex. Experiencing those magical early Rock 'n’ Roll years that even then molded his destiny. lt was then that he met and formed his first group The Teens with Rick Westwood, now famed guitarist with the Tremeloes. Mick later became a Tremeloe himself for a while and was instrumental in bringing Silence Is Golden to their attention. He then went on to enjoy success with the Symbols who's record Best Part Of Breaking Up stormed the U.K. charts.
Mick having been with the Rubettes from the start took a break from their busy schedule in the early 90's to work with such Greats as the Jordanaires, Cliff Richard, Elton John, and Shakin' Stevens, but returned shortly afterwards.
